Memorial trees

As a forestry company with a long tradition, we appreciate the natural resources we manage. In our territories, we take care of a total of 11 memorial trees, which are protected under the Nature and Landscape Conservation Act. The memorial trees may not be damaged or destroyed, and their natural development may not be interfered with. They can only be treated with the consent of the nature conservation authority.

In addition, we record and take care of forty more trees, which we have included in the “Significant Trees of VLS ČR, s. p.” programme. These are trees that we consider to be historically memorable, valuable in terms of landscape conservation, important with regard to their species or notable by their shape or size. We consider them “aspirants” to become memorial trees, and we protect them to preserve them as much as possible for future generations. Each is marked with a sign bearing the VLS logo and specifying their basic parameters.
